I am so pleased to announce that Girls on the Run (3rd -5th grade) and Heart & Sole (6th -8th grade) will be back at High Mount for the Spring 2022 season! Participant Registration will open for our girls on Tuesday, January 18 @ 9am. The program will begin the week of March 7 and will take place on Tuesdays and Thursdays after school. I will continue to send information out about this program and will post the link when it becomes live on January 18. Mark your calendars!

As you may be hearing, a couple of local schools are going to remote instruction due to staffing shortages. We are fortunate at HMS, and at this time, we are able to staff our classrooms. Therefore, HMS will not be having remote instruction. We will continue to do everything possible to keep our students learning in-person. Thank you.
Shout out to our social worker, Ms. Lange, for working with our community to provide for our families in need this holiday season. We would like to thank the following organizations for helping HMS make this possible: Swansea Rotary Club, Mission Thrift, Swansea Police Department, Westview Baptist Church, Brooklyn Bulls, Swansea Improvement Hall, HMS Student Council, FCB Banks, The Village of Swansea, Sue’s Corner-Granite City, HMS BoE members and HMS staff who adopted a family. Miss Hoffman's Fourth Graders enjoyed "Reindeer Games" This morning with stations around the room like: Christmas Tree Bowling, Santa Corn Hole, Holiday Fun on the Chromebooks, Candy Cane Connect Four, Mistletoe Play Dough, Tree tic tac toe tournament, and Christmas light Legos!

🇺🇸 Lt. Terry Pensoneau who was an HMS student, coach, and teacher. He he made the ultimate sacrifice while serving our country as a U. S. Marine in the Vietnam War.

🇺🇸 Technology Director, Colonel Dave Chevess, who served in the U.S. Air Force.
🇺🇸 HMS Bus Driver, Mr. Dennis Brown, who served in the U.S. Army for two tours in the Vietnam War, and he also served tours in Dessert Storm and Iraq.
🇺🇸 HMS graduate and Vietnam Veteran, Mr. Melvin Bien, who served in the U.S. Navy on the USS Yorktown.
